Presentation of the Freshers’ Week Program
During the first day of reception, a single online session will be organized to present the program of the two Freshers’ Weeks. They will be provide you here information relating to timetables, the use of the Luiss Learn platform both for interactive teaching moments and for finding all the details of the activities (timetable, classroom, working groups, materials).
Department Welcome Talks – Presentation of the degree course
Course presentation session by the Director Prof. Murro with the testimony of a young Luiss graduate who will be able to give you an overview of the prospects and career opportunities of your academic career.
Meet the Luiss Community
The activity is aimed at introducing you to the field of education based on research and practice, right from the start of your studies. Specifically, it will involve the division of you students into groups: each group will be assigned the name of one of the members of the Luiss community (who can be either a member of the faculty or a professional) and entrusted with the task of interviewing the guest, doing research on his specific role and introduce him to the rest of the class. The interviews will be organized independently by you students.
There will also be group work sessions, in which the students will elaborate the interview, creating a presentation that will be shared with the rest of the class during a plenary meeting, in the presence of all the guests of the Luiss Community.
Career Go
The Career Go is a practical course, a real Professional Development Lab aimed at improving your level of employability and which aims to consolidate and strengthen knowledge and skills of the reference labor market.
The course will be conducted by a team of leading industry experts and will be divided into 4 meetings, preceded by a pre-work preparation for the training modules.
Challenge
Come nutrire in modo salutare 10 miliardi di persone entro il 2050, preservando il loro benessere e quello del pianeta?
Questo è il macro-tema attorno al quale ruoterà la challenge lanciata per l’Hackathon di questa edizione della Freshers’ Week.
Sarete accompagnati nella risoluzione della sfida attraverso tre giornate di Smart Talk con ospiti di rilevanza internazionale. Questi serviranno ad ispirarvi, aiutandovi a comprendere una delle principali sfide del nostro secolo e le possibili strade per risolverla.
Durante i tre incontri in plenaria vi verranno forniti tutti gli spunti utili per trattare la sfida in modo trasversale, integrando le tematiche inerenti la comunicazione, la politica e gli aspetti economici. Subito dopo vi verranno quindi messe a disposizione stanze di lavoro nelle quali lavorerete in team alla risoluzione della challenge affidata al proprio cluster.
Le attività di organizzazione e tutoraggio saranno coordinate da Andrea Geremicca e coinvolgeranno ospiti ed esperti della rete di partnership di EIIS – European Institute for Innovation and Sustainability.
