The interviews will be organized independently by you students.
There will also be group work sessions, in which the students will elaborate the interview, creating a presentation that will be shared with the rest of the class during a plenary meeting, in the presence of all the guests of the Luiss Community.

Challenge
How to feed 10 billion people in a healthy way by 2050, while preserving their well-being and that of the planet?
This is the macro-theme around which the challenge launched for the Hackathon of this edition of Freshers’ Week will revolve.
You will be accompanied in the resolution of the challenge through three days of Smart Talk with guests of international importance. These will serve to inspire you, helping you to understand one of the main challenges of our century and the possible ways to solve it.
During the three plenary meetings you will be provided with all the useful ideas to deal with the challenge in a transversal way, integrating the issues relating to communication, politics and economic aspects. Soon after, work rooms will be made available to you in which you will work as a team to solve the challenge entrusted to your cluster.
The organization and tutoring activities will be coordinated by Andrea Geremicca and will involve guests and experts from the partnership network of EIIS – European Institute for Innovation and Sustainability.
Data Game
Quantitative data analysis has become increasingly important in the social sciences and in the study of public policy. The use of these analyzes (e.g. opinion polls, aggregate analysis of electoral data, evaluation of public policies) is today crucial in the field of academic research and in the activities of public institutions, think tanks and media. The ability to adequately understand and critically evaluate the results of quantitative analyzes have therefore become necessary resources for any social scientist as well as for any professional who approaches the world of work.
In this scenario, the data game aims to introduce students to quantitative data analysis with a practical and dynamic approach. The workshop will take place over two days (sessions). Each session will be divided into three phases: in a first phase the teacher will introduce the topics of the day, providing students with the theoretical tools to be able to independently apply simple quantitative analyzes. In a second phase, students will work in groups on their own original analysis on data provided by the teacher, putting into practice the techniques learned during the first phase of the session and producing a PowerPoint presentation of the data. The third and last phase will instead be dedicated to the public presentation of the group work in the context of a simulation of an international scientific conference.
